SHRINE NEWS: The month of February has arrived as we set our sites on the new year we see that there is much to look forward to. The First Saturday this month will be the second consecutive First Saturday as we attempt to fulfill our Lady’s request at Fatima. The third apparition of Our Lady on July 13th 1917; the children saw a vision of hell. She then told them that God wished to save souls from going there by establishing devotion to her Immaculate Heart in the world. She then spoke of war, famine and persecutions of the Church and the Holy Father which would occur if people did not stop offending God. She said that to prevent these things she would return to ask for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart and the Communions of Reparation on First Saturdays. If her requests were heeded, Russia would be converted and there would be an era of peace. If not, Russia would spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church; the good would be martyred; the Holy Father would have much to suffer; and various nations would be annihilated. We witness today that the pandemic protocols and fear mongering has cause great division among our fellow citizens. The attack on the traditional family and what was once a culture that respected the tenets of Christianity has long been subjugated to modern paganism. The errors of Marxism, atheism, Communism, are making a comeback today among our young people. All of us should be concerned with what is going on in the world as an accending China infiltrates the West and threats from Russia invading Ukraine dominate the news cycle. There has never been a more urgent time to fulfill Our Lady’s request. The remedy to all of this is what the Queen of Peace proposed with the Five First Saturdays. She stated that war can be diverted and even the Second World War could have been avoided if her request were fulfilled. The Church along with Sr. Lucia has said that the consecration of Russia has been accomplished on March 25th, 1984; however, it was late in avoiding the errors of Communism from taking hold. Our Lady, accompanied by the Child Jesus, returned to visit Lucia in the Dorothean convent on December 10th, 1925 as she said she would. It was during this apparition that the elements of the practice of the devotion were articulated and the promises associated with its successful completion was made. Our Lady said: “I promise to assist at the hour of death, with the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, shall confess; receive Holy Communion; recite five decades of the Rosary; and keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me.” The Crusaders of Fatima and the Fatima Shrine Boston is dedicated to heeding Our Lady request made known at Fatima to help provide the opportunity to complete and practice the devotion to the First Saturdays as so requested in the hopes we can facilitate the promise Our Lady made when she said, in the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph and there will be a period of peace. May we all pray that day will come soon. Immaculate Heart of Mary: Pray for us.
