CONSTRUCTION UPDATE. The St. Gabriel’s Project continues to make progress as site work continues. New walkways, accessible route, ramps and lighting are all starting to take shape. Contractors are assessing the inside and outside of the shrine while new drainage is also added. I was told they are on schedule so we hope to be back in the shrine come July. The new chairs have been ordered and they hope to arrive just in time for our July devotions.
THE NEW MAILING ADDRESS. The Shrines physical address is still 155 Washington St. Brighton, MA. 02135, however our mailing address is
P.O. Box 35854, Brighton, MA. 02135. Please send in all correspondences to our mailing address, not the physical address, otherwise you run the risk of losing the mail or having it returned to you. The shrine cannot receive mail while construction is going on; we always recommend that you send all mail to the PO Box, please. www.fatimashrineboston.org
THE MAY CROWNING.
A good crowd was on hand for the first Candlelight of the season held at St. Columbskill on a very cold and stormy night. That did not deter the faithful, Thanks to Gabriella Aguirre, and her parents Helder and Maria Aguirre for crowning the statue of Our Lady of Fatima on May 13th.
FIRST SATURDAY IN JUNE. The First Saturday on June 1st will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, 5 Linden Place, Brookline, MA. The Very Rev. George Szal S.M. will preside at the Mass, which will be followed by rosary, and coffee. The priest will be available for confession and there will be a meditation.
JUNE 13TH CANDLELIGHT PROCESSION. The Candle light procession on June 13th the feast of St. Anthony will also be held at St. Mary’s of the Assumption in Brookline, see address above. This is to commemorate the apparition’s that took place 101 years ago, as Our Lady said to the children; “I want you to come here on the 13th of each month, and to pray the rosary.”
SUNDAY ROSARY. Many thanks go out to the St. Elizabeth’s hospital chapel for allowing us to come there on Sundays at 3pm to say the rosary for peace. Many prayers are being answered.
We are lucky as the warm weather arrives with many meaningful feast in June, such as Pentecost, Trinity Sunday, and Corpus Christi, not to mention the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Let us pray and offer up our sacrifices for a well needed outcome for the shrine.
Please remember Paul Zukas in your prayers, a past president of the Crusaders of Fatima who passed away in March of this year.
