CONSTRUCTION UPDATE.
Construction on and around the Shrine is definitely winding down, and the expectation is that they should be wrapping up by the end of the month. We will have partial access to the shrine come the first of the month, however we will not be able to have full access to the property to hold the First Saturday there for November. The First Saturday falls on the 2nd of the Month, All Souls day and we have made arrangements to have it at St. Columbkill’s once again. I hope all of you can join us. We will almost certainly be back at the shrine for the First Saturday in December, for we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and there will be much to do in moving back in. I would like to again apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to spending a good part of the Holiday season at the newly renovation Shrine.
OCTOBER EVENTS.
Thank all of you who participated and came out for the October First Saturday and Candlelight Procession held at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Brookline and St. Columbkill’s. Thanks to the Parishioners and the Pastor as well, and all who help in any way to make these devotions a reality. I am always impressed at the solid turnout and the wonderful core of followers we have who give so much of themselves for Our Lady.
FIRST SATURDAY IN NOVEMBER.
The First Saturday on November 2nd will be held at St. Columbkill’s Parish, 321 Market St. Brighton, MA. One of the Priest in residence will preside at the Mass, which will be followed by rosary, coffee and. The priest will be available for confession and there will be a meditation. There will be a brief update on looking forward to settling back into the shrine and how some of the changes may affect us.
SUNDAY ROSARY.
Once again a great big thank you go out to the St. Elizabeth’s hospital chapel for allowing us to come there on Sundays at 3 pm to say the rosary for peace. Many prayers are being answered.
We have come to the end of the Candlelight Procession Season for this year, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed in any way in allowing us to continue in this important work especially through these difficult times. If there is one thing I would ask for it would be your continued prayers for the success of our time spent away from the Shrine, and to use it as a means of offering sacrifices for others just like Our Lady asked the children of Fatima to do. They responded in the most heroic and generous ways, help us to do our part and pray for Our Lady’s intentions. I have often said that these past months felt a little like the Israelites wondering in the desert, although they’re experience was for forty years, let us remember these challenges as small offerings to God. Please pray for us and know that all of your intentions and the intentions of your families will be remember in a Mass on the First Saturday of the Month. I would also like to thank all of you who have sent in donations to the shrine through our web site and online, and in any way that you do. God Bless! Happy All Souls day.
