Unfortunately we had already sent the Newsletter out in September before hearing the news of Dick’s passing, we will miss him and all that he has done for the entire community. I know many of you may not know so we are featuring his obituary in this month’s Newsletter. Our prayers and sympathy go out to Dicks family and we wish to thank all his friends who we have heard from at the shrine since he left us. We offered up the last First Saturday Mass for Dick, and will remember him again in November. This is a good time to recall what Our Lady said in regards to the First Saturday: “I promise to assist at the hour of death, with graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the First Saturday of five consecutive months, shall confess; receive Holy Communion; recite five decades of the Rosary; and keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, with the intentions of making reparations to me.” We can all be assured with a great deal of certainty that Our Lady didn’t waste any time in fulfilling this promise in regards to Dick. Rest in Peace my friend. This month is the month of the Rosary, and Pro-Life month let’s keep all our intentions in mind during this time. The First Saturday in October falls on the Feast of The Lady of the Rosary, the very title she revealed at Fatima to the three shepherd children during the October 13th apparition. Many blessings continue to be had at the shrine that we are so grateful for. We are also beginning a capital campaign to help offset a new boiler for the shrine. If anyone thinks they can help let us know. Thank you.
